The Ducali are bottom of the table and desperate, but the Aquile aren’t faring much better at the moment with one point from three rounds.

“Lazio want to get back to winning, that is certain. We had a great week in training and know what we need for the victory,” assured the Coach in a Press conference.

“Parma are a determined side and we must be even more determined. We already paid a heavy price in the past for not having the right attitude, so prepared for this challenge.

“From the outside people have a different perception of what’s happening within Lazio. The team wants to overcome this moment of slowing down. We proved our quality and want to remain in the group going for Europe. This side deserves faith and we will soon get back to winning ways.”

Klose was irritated this week at the amount of time he is spending on the bench, fuelling reports of a January exit.

“It was a way to blow off steam for an important player who does not feel he is at the twilight of his career. I think the same things he does, as I consider him an important player. As always, I have to make choices for the good of my team. His words will not influence me, as I have my ideas, I know my players and they know my honesty.

“We discussed our situations, but there are no debates around his future with us. He will go the distance with Lazio. Djordjevic with Klose is an option and we are working on it, but I never believe the attacking potential of a team is dictated by how many strikers are on the field.”

Changes are necessary with Antonio Candreva, Ederson, Michael Ciani, Pedro Luis Cavanda, Bruno Pereirinha and Santiago Gentiletti all injured.

“Radu is doing well as a centre-back and is very good at starting moves from deep. Have I asked for a defender? I am in daily contact with the club and we’re evaluating all these situations, but right now we are concentrated on the game.”
