Stefano Pioli had the ideal debut on the Bologna bench and reveals he “studied Novara in August."

The Coach had been due to face Novara in his first game of the season, but that was when he was in charge of Palermo.

That opening round was postponed to December due to a players' strike and Pioli was sacked before the campaign even started.

“I had already studied Novara when I was preparing for this game in August, so I know the way they play very well,” revealed Pioli of the 2-0 win.

He was drafted in to replace Pier Paolo Bisoli and on his debut secured their first win of the campaign.

However, when asked what it was like to be back at work after the Palermo dismissal, Pioli refused to answer.

“I prefer to keep what happened in Sicily to myself. I am now satisfied and proud to be the Bologna Coach.”
