Milan coach Stefano Pioli describes how Milan prepared Rafael Leao’s goal and reveals the Rossoneri will sign new players in January ‘if there will be good opportunities.’
The Rossoneri managed a 2-1 away win at Sassuolo with Rafael Leao who scored the fastest goal in the history of Serie A after just six seconds.
Pioli confirmed the action had been prepared in training.
“We have four or five situations for the kick-off and we wanted to have a strong approach because we missed something in the last few games. Praise to [Hakan] Calhanoglu, Brahim Diaz and Leao who did the right movement,” Pioli told Sky Sport.
“Each game is worth three points, that’s what I always tell the team. We always play to win and we were not satisfied about the last two draws.”
Does he expect new signings in January?
“We have clear ideas, the club know that if there will be good opportunities we’ll try to make the most of them, otherwise we’ll remain like this. We were missing two centre-backs and two strikers today. Now we need the last effort against Lazio, we’ll be without [Franck] Kessie who will be suspended.
“Fans are always supporting us, they came to Milanello yesterday and we really appreciated it. Maybe at the beginning it was helpful for us to play without crowd, but now, as Ibra says, our fans in the stadium would make us fly.”
Sky Sport Italia pundit Giancarlo Marocchi pointed out Theo Hernandez was once again among the best players on the pitch.
“He is improving so much,” Pioli said.
“He is becoming a complete defender, I am really happy for his work and his sacrifice. He has everything to become a top player.
“Today I was tempted to play without a centre forward, not to give Sassuolo points of reference. There is a nice environment, if new faces will come, they’ll have to show the same attitude."
