Stefano Pioli is expected to meet Milan directors over the last few days to determine his San Siro exit and according to reports in Italy, three Serie A clubs could welcome the Parma-born coach next season: Napoli, Bologna or Atalanta.
Milan coach Pioli is set to leave the club at the end of the season despite a contract expiring in June 2025.
The Rossoneri have decided to move on and pick a new coach for 2024-25 but haven’t yet met Pioli to discuss his contract termination.
As reported by Il Corriere dello Sport, Pioli is expected to meet Milan directors this week before the final game of the season against Salernitana at San Siro.
Pioli prepares for crunch talks as Milan coach linked with three Serie A clubs
Milan understandably hope to reach an amicable agreement and give their coach severance pay to avoid paying the full salary from the final year of his contract. It remains to be seen if the two parties will reach an agreement, but in the meantime, other Serie A clubs have shown interest in the Parma-born coach.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Napoli and Bologna are two credible options for Pioli, but Tuttosport, on page 17, claims Atalanta may also look to the 58-year-old if Gian Piero Gasperini leaves the club to join Napoli.
