Stefano Pioli isn’t worried by his 18-month Inter contract – “I just want to do my best”.
The Coach has been appointed as Frank de Boer’s successor, but it’s thought the long-term plan is to get Diego Simeone when he leaves Atletico Madrid in 2018.
“I’m not worried about my future,” Pioli shrugged in his presentation.
“I’m Coaching Inter, I want to do my best and try to take us higher. The contract doesn’t matter, what matters is the good of Inter.

“Our line of work depends on results, that’s normal.”
Pioli was then asked about his tactical approach, will he be relying on a back-four?
“The formation doesn’t matter, it’s about a winning system. What counts is principles, attitude and interpretation.
“I won’t change a lot, I think that would be the wrong move. I need to get to know this environment.
“I’ll go with a four-man defence because I’ll only have the whole squad for a few days before the derby [with Milan], but I repeat: it’s the attitude that matters.
“My ideas are clear, regardless of formation or defenders.”
Walter Samuel will join the Nerazzurri next week, what will he bring?
“I knew he had already been at the club, so I asked for him to be added to my staff. I’ve always considered Walter a valuable person who knows this club well.
“I think he’ll help. I spoke to him yesterday, he’s happy with this new opportunity.”
