Stefano Pioli has confirmed that England international Fikayo Tomori will be called up to the Rossoneri squad for Friday evening’s Serie A clash against Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio.

Pioli gave a one-word answer when asked if Tomori would be called up to the squad during his pre-match press conference on Thursday: “Yes.”

The 26-year-old centre-back will be among the Milan matchday squad for the first time in over two months, having last featured in a 2-2 draw with Salernitana on December 22.

Tomori was brought off in the 66th minute of the Salernitana game, and has since been recovering from a muscular injury in his hamstring.

The former Chelsea defender has missed 13 matches in all competitions, including nine in Serie A, and two apiece in the Coppa Italia and Europa League.

Prior to his injury, Tomori had made16 league appearances, chipping in with three goals. He had also featured in all six of the Rossoneri’s Champions League group stage matches.

Milan will take to the Stadio Olimpico field at 19.45 GMT on Friday.
