The Rossoneri were dominant at the Allianz Juventus Stadium in Turin, emerging with a 3-0 victory thanks to Brahim Diaz, Ante Rebic and Tomori goals, even after Franck Kessie’s penalty was saved.

“I don’t believe there is such a thing as a perfect performance, but we went pretty close this evening,” said Pioli in his press conference.

“We played as a mature team, focused and determined, winning a very difficult and very important match. Milan had never won at this stadium, so it’s satisfying for everyone.”

Tomori is on loan from Chelsea with a €28m option to buy, so will Milan activate it?

“Our intention with Tomori is clear and his intentions are clear too, but that’s for the end of the season and not now.”

Director Paolo Maldini said before kick-off that Pioli would certainly be the coach next season, even if they don’t qualify for the Champions League.

“We are laying the foundations to build a winning team, that is what we are fighting for. Many players are proving themselves to be of a high level, but clearly every year you have to step up and improve.”
