Stefano Pioli smiled when replying to questions about his future at Milan and possible PIF investments in the club: ‘You managed to ask two questions I can’t reply to.’
Pioli met the media for a pre-match press conference on Wednesday, on the eve of a Europa League Round of 16 first leg against Slavia Praha.
The Rossoneri boss didn’t only preview the match but also faced questions about his future and the possible involvement of Newcastle owners PIF in the club. Il Sole 24 Ore reported on Wednesday morning that the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia is in talks with RedBird over a possible partnership that could also include the Rossoneri.
As reported by Milannews, one journalist asked Pioli if he would remain at Milan in case of Europa League victory and if the potential involvement of PIF would help the club raise their transfer budget for the summer.
Pioli replied with a smile: “You managed to ask two questions I can’t reply to,” he said.
The Italian tactician is under contract until June 2025, but several sources in Italy claim the Rossoneri are considering other coaches for next season, including Antonio Conte and Thiago Motta.
