Tiago Pinto wants Roma to give important responses in tonight’s match against Juventus.

The Giallorossi currently sit three points behind the Bianconeri in the league table and a win at the Stadio Olimpico today would see them go level in the table. Both teams are in the race for a top four finish and so tonight’s game could be crucial in the fight for fourth.

Speaking to DAZN before the match, Pinto first discussed the importance of tonight’s match.

“I agree with what was said in the studio. Both teams have the potential to do better, but we have a challenge now to score more points than in the first half of the season.

“This is our challenge, against a great team and a great coach. We have this responsibility to give an answer and this is what everyone expects from us.”

He touched on the value of the squad and if they should be higher in the table.

“We’ve talked about that before, we’re working to put all the pieces together, a fantastic coach, a team with values.”

The Giallorossi general manager refused to provide any updates on Sergio Oliveira.

“Maitland-Niles is playing today. We have a strategy and targets identified. I’m waiting for the next two weeks to close the market.”

Pinto discussed what position that Maitland-Niles will play under coach Jose Mourinho.

“In his career he has played both on the left and in midfield. In today’s football everyone has to know how to do more than one role. He helps us out at right-back, but he is a player who also has quality in midfield.”

Roma lost their first meeting with Juventus this season, 1-0 at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. They’ll be hoping for a better result in front of their fans in the Stadio Olimpico this evening.
