“Dear fans,” Pinilla began in a message posted on his Instagram page.

“My situation is no longer a mystery, and I’m sorry for not having said goodbye to you as we both deserved, but football is like that.

“I was lucky enough to scream, jump, laugh, suffer and embrace you under the curva for these last two years.

“Honestly, I have my bags packed, but in addition to my clothes there are the many things you’ve given me that I’ll take with me, you’re truly fantastic, continue to instil your faith in your children as you’ve done for a lifetime.

“Thank you so much for greeting me and treating me like a bergamasco, I’ll carry you in my heart for a lifetime.”

Ciro Ferrara’s Wuhan Zall FC are thought to be interested, but Palermo, Pescara and Genoa could all offer to keep the Chilean in Serie A.
