Mauricio Pinilla has completed his move from Genoa to Atalanta today after the latter filed his contract with the League.
The former Heart of Midlothian forward joined Genoa in the summer, but has found himself unable to make an impact, with Alessandro Matri being favoured in the striking role, and has sought a move to Bergamo.
The Chilean international will join the Orobici on loan until the end of the season, with Atalanta having the option to buy the player outright in the summer.
The 30-year-old has made just six starts for the Grifone in Serie A this season, scoring three goals.
"A few years ago I was close to joining Atalanta, this year it happened," Pinilla told assembled reporters at his official unveiling.
"It was an easy decision. The truth is that ever since there was interest from Atalanta I wanted to come here. I think it will be a beautiful experience.
"In my mind there was only Atalanta, I didn't listen to any other offers. Now I have to repay the faith shown in me.
"I'm here to help my teammates, and to make my contribution. Atalanta have gotten a lot less than they deserved this season, I'm ready to give 200 per cent.
"Scoring double figures is always a goal, but the main aim at the moment is to move up the table."
