Pinamonti reveals Andreazzoli’s call before Empoli move

Andrea Pinamonti wants to get more playing time at Empoli and reveals Aurelio Andreazzoli convinced him to move to Tuscany.

The 22-year-old striker has joined the newly-promoted Serie A side on loan from Inter. He was unveiled at a press conference today.

“Andreazzoli called me at the beginning of the summer saying that he wanted to work with me. It was very nice,” the Italian striker revealed.

“Negotiations took a while because Inter had to find a replacement, but it was easy to reach an agreement and I am happy to be here. I hope we can gain Serie A survival as soon as possible, the group is motivated. At a personal level, I want to score more than five goals, which is how much I scored with both Genoa and Frosinone.”

Empoli shocked Juventus with a 1-0 win in Turin on Saturday. It was the first time they beat the Bianconeri in their history.

“I understood before the game against Juventus that we could play a great game,” Pinamonti said.

“The three points are important for the team spirit, but now we must focus on Venezia not to make that win useless.

“I learned a lot at Inter, I’ve improved and I feel last season was useful. I decided to come here to show my qualities and I hope to get more playing time,” the striker concluded.
