Andrea Pinamonti reveals that Inter players and President Steven Zhang texted him on Sunday after his brace against Napoli: ‘I said the same thing to all of them…’

The Italy international is on loan at the Stadio Castellani, where he has scored 12 goals this season. His brace against Napoli in a 3-2 win for the Tuscans ended the Partenopei’s title hopes.

“That’s how you imagine a perfect Sunday. There wasn’t a negative thing. It was a mix of emotions and happiness to live with our fans. I won’t forget it for a long time,” Pinamonti told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Andreazzoli is a fantastic person and has a strong bond with all of us. We are a small team that works like a top club. Here you can grow without pressure. There are prepared and available people everywhere. We must remain focused on the pitch.”

Inter set price tag for Pinamonti

After the game Inter director Beppe Marotta complimented Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi.

“Yes, he [Corsi] told me,” said Pinamonti. “I received other messages from President Steven Zhang and Piero Ausilio. It was thrilling. I told all of them the same thing: ‘Hopefully, this brace will help Inter win the title.”

Did he speak with some of his former teammates as well?

“I did, Skriniar called me, but got angry because I hadn’t picked up the phone immediately. I have a strong bond with Milan, he cares about me. Bastoni, Barella, Perisic and Darmian also texted me.”

His loan in Tuscany expires in the summer and Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly interested in signing him. What does he make of his future?

“I don’t have a clear idea, it’s nice to see my name circulating after so many sacrifices. I try not to listen to rumours. Haveìing admirers in Italy and Europe motivates me. Joining the national team is my target for next season. Not making it into the World Cup was a huge blow.”
