Empoli striker Andrea Pinamonti admits he won’t celebrate if he scores against Inter tomorrow and says Mino Raiola was like a father to him.

The 22-year-old joined the Tuscans on loan from Inter last summer and has scored 12 goals in Serie A so far.

“I want more, but if I score against Inter, I won’t celebrate,” he told Gianlucadimarzio.

“It’s my best season, a fundamental campaign for me. Empoli have helped me find new motivations and I hope I’ve repaid their trust. It’s a starting point and I hope more seasons like this will come.”

Pinamonti was one of the many clients of Mino Raiola who died last week.

“It was a huge blow, I had a special rapport with him,” the striker said.

“He was like a father and he was a reference point for younger footballers. You could always count on him. He was a fantastic person, only those who knew him can say how he really was.”

  1. Good lad. Hard working player. I think a club just needs to gamble on him, even as a rotation because he’s such a naturally talented striker and you could see that from very early on. I’m really surprised Inter invested in a dinosaur like Dzeko when they have a gem like this on their books. He just needs nurturing.
