Torino star Duvan Zapata broke into tears during a post-match interview on Monday, after inspiring the Granata’s 3-0 win over his former club Atalanta with a brace.
The Colombian forward was Torino’s big summer signing but had only scored one Serie A goal for the Granata before last night’s meeting with his ex-club Atalanta.
Zapata inspired Torino’s victory by scoring a brace, which he didn’t celebrate on the pitch, and he couldn’t hold back the tears after the final whistle, during a post-match interview with DAZN.
“With this brace, I’ve repaid the love Juric has given me since I arrived,” said the striker.
“Both he and all my teammates. Everyone has welcomed me in the best possible way and I am overcoming difficult moments. I was happy to see my former teammates and I am sorry for them but we needed this victory.
“I dedicate this to my family and my teammates because we deserve it. I think that if we stick together, we will keep progressing. We played some good games and we want to continue.”
