Arkadiusz Milik has issued an apology to the Juventus supporters after his first-half sending off during the Old Lady’s 1-1 draw with Empoli in Serie A on Saturday evening.

The Poland international put in a clumsy challenge on Alberto Cerri while chasing down a ball that he had lost control of early into proceedings at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

Referee Livio Marinelli had originally brandished a yellow card, but later upgraded his decision to a red following a VAR review.

Milik’s dismissal was Juve’s first in the league in 2023-24. It was also the earliest Juventus red card at home in Serie A history.

Milik will now be suspended for Juve’s direct clash against title rivals Inter at San Siro next Sunday.

Following the conclusion of Juve’s 1-1 draw with Empoli, Milik took to Instagram to ask for forgiveness from the Bianconeri faithful.

“I am sorry, I didn’t want to put my teammates in difficulty, that was not my intention. I ask for forgiveness. Forza Juve,” Milik wrote.
