A giant picture of Fabio Grosso bleeding made the front page of Monday’s printed edition of French paper L’Equipe: ‘Disgust and shame.’

Grosso’s Lyon were supposed to meet Gennaro Gattuso’s Marseille at the Stade Velodrome on Sunday, but the game was called off after home fans attacked Lyon’s team bus leaving their coach Grosso bleeding. The 2006 Italy World Cup winner received medical attention at the stadium and was given 12 stitches.

Sadly, it was the news of the day for French sports so L’Equipe used a giant Grosso picture in their front page, writing: ‘Disgust and shame.’
