Liverpool keeper Caoimhin Kelleher pulled off a save-of-the-season contender in the early stages of the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals against Atalanta, leaving a bit of a shiner on his eye.
Atalanta came close to scoring an early opener at Anfield, but Kelleher denied Mario Pasalic with one of the best saves of the season.
Pasalic was totally clear on goal, and the 25-year-old keeper desperately tried to cover as much space as he could, eventually saving the ball with his face.
Kelleher’s save was beyond impressive, but it brought consequences too as it gave the Irish keeper a black eye.
What a stop from Caoimhin Kelleher! 🤯
How are Atalanta not ahead… 🫣#UEL pic.twitter.com/1MSQo96SOh
