Krzysztof Piatek assures Milan fans are finally beginning to see “the real Piatek” and thanks Stefano Pioli for bringing “positivity.”

The Poland international has really struggled to score goals this season, but broke the drought in a 3-2 victory away to Bologna.

“I realised that it can be a problem for the fans and the club when the main centre-forward is in bad shape, but I try to think positive, work hard and do well,” Piatek told Sky Sport Italia.

“Perhaps I made some mistakes during pre-season training. In the first few games, I didn’t feel right physically, I wasn’t sharp. I felt my legs were heavy and I lacked energy. It was a real problem, but I feel much better now.

“I play with the team, fight hard and recover the ball. This is the real Piatek and I want to keep getting stronger. I know that I scored more last season, but I know that when I hit form, I can score six or seven in just a handful of games.”

It is probably no coincidence that Piatek’s performances also improved once Pioli replaced Marco Giampaolo on the Milan bench.

“Pioli transmits positivity to the squad and that is why we play better,” continued the former Genoa striker.

“We want to continue building on these performances.”

There continue to be reports Piatek could move on in the January transfer window, with Premier League sides interested.

“I am a Milan striker. I think only of giving 100 per cent for my team and am not thinking about the transfer market.”
