Fiorentina are reportedly hoping to bring Hertha BSC striker Krzysztof Piatek back to Serie A this summer.

According to La Nazione, Fiorentina have moved for Sampdoria midfielder Karol Linetty first, already opening talks with his club over a transfer.

However, Linetty shares an agent with Piatek and the newspaper writes the Viola will also ask about the former Milan hitman when they speak to him.

The 24-year-old only moved to Hertha from the Rossoneri in January for €27m plus bonuses but scored just one goal in his first eight Bundesliga appearances.

Although he has since followed up with two in his last two games, it is claimed the Pole is no longer happy with his decision to join the German side.

La Nazionale speculates Fiorentina could negotiate a two-year loan with an obligation to buy, much like they did to sign Patrick Cutrone.

Coincidentally, the ex-Genoa forward would be replacing Cutrone again after having done so at San Siro in January 2019.

Piatek scored 11 goals in his first 20 appearances for Milan but managed just five more in the first half of 2019-20.
