Genoa’s sporting director claims Milan new boy Krzysztof Piatek is ‘programmed to become a great goalscorer’.
Piatek already has three goals in his first three appearances for Milan, whom he joined from Genoa last month after only half-a-season with the Grifone.
“Piatek is programmed to become a great goalscorer,” Giorgio Perinetti told Radio Rossonera.
“Did I expect him to have an impact like this? I expected him to respond well because he’s a player who is programmed.

“Did I expect him to have an impact like this? I expected him to respond well because he’s a player who is programmed.
“Gattuso has rightly compared him to Robocop in that he is a bit robotic, he doesn’t feel tension or anxiety.
“He’s prepared for this and now he’s ready for the big jump. Right from the start [Davide] Ballardini told me Krzysztof would be a player who gave great satisfaction.
“He’s a finisher but also good technically. He’s 23 years old, but he can still improve so much as a player in Serie A and he has plenty of room to do so.
“Montolivo never entered any conversation [about an player swap]. Instead we talked about Bertolacci, but there wasn’t the possibility.
“Also the modalities of the transfer were complicated because he’s a player who has an expiring contract and we didn’t receive his full satisfaction.
“That said, Milan had the secret weapon because Piatek wanted to join them. We’d be losers if we pursued a standoff.
“I understand the bitterness of our fans who have lost their darling, but when a player wants to change clubs, like it happened with Higuain, it’s difficult to keep them.”
The Rossoblu have since replaced the Pole with Antonio Sanabria, who similarly has two goals in his first two games for the club.
“Our ability isn’t knowing how to keep a player but how to replace them in the best possible way,” continued Perinetti.
“The fast pace of football and the transfer market require it. Sanabria is a striker of great quality.
“He came through at Barcelona, he’s 23 years old and therefore he has great room for improvement.
“The first time he arrived in Italy, he was perhaps too young. Kouame? Leave behind someone already!
“Christian is an extraordinary lad, he runs a lot but manages to keep a cool head in the box. We want to enjoy it as much as possible. After that we’ll see.”
