The legendary former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has taken aim at Antonio Conte after his dismissal from Tottenham, asking why it’s always the ‘same old b*****ks’ in a now deleted instagram post.

Conte officially left his post as Tottenham coach by mutual consent late on Sunday evening exactly a week after his explosive rant about the club and his players after their 3-3 draw with Premier League strugglers Southampton.

In the aftermath of Conte’s dismissal, Scholes took to social media to share his feelings on the incident in a rant of his own.

The former England international had been listening to a segment on Talksport before tagging them in his now-deleted post and unleashing on Conte and his behaviour in recent weeks.

Scholes wrote: “A manager gets sacked so everybody blames recruitment … and a top class manager blames lack of ambition

“Why don’t managers say when they’re smiling and shaking hands with a player at their press conference ‘I don’t like this player, I think will eventually get me the sack’ saves the same old b*****ks once they are sacked or leave.”

Scholes joked that Conte should have admitted he didn’t like his signings when they joined the club as opposed to more than half way through the season.

Conte had been backed by Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board in the summer transfer window, having been given £150m to spend on new arrivals.

£60m of that figure went on the purchase of Brazilian international Richarlison from Everton, a player who Conte had singled out for his lack of form throughout the season in a recent press conference.

For now, Conte’s former assistant Christian Stellini will be hoping to get more out of the Tottenham players than his former boss did as he takes charge of Tottenham on an interim basis until the end of the season.
