Mario Balotelli has shown off multiple face tattoos on his Instagram story today, dividing fans.

The 31-year-old Italian striker, who is currently plying his trade with Adana Demirspor in Turkey, was infamously not called up by Roberto Mancini for Italy’s recent World Cup play-off disaster against North Macedonia. Many fans felt the former Inter and Manchester City striker could have made the difference, although others disagreed citing his decline.

Balotelli has posted a photo on his Instagram story showing multiple face tattoos, which include a cross and the words ‘Black power’.

  1. Have nothing against Balotelli but the tattoos are awful. They look like they were done in prison with a rusty needle.

  2. Bigduke6 did you notice the Christian cross on his face, and why shouldn’t he want power for who he is, I can see your outrage if he had a tattoo saying take power from others, why would wanting power for himself bother you?

  3. @Greg Would you be saying the same if a white man had “White Power” as a tattoo? Balotelli just continues to disappoint. I have had so much hope for the guy, I have rarely been against him coming back to Italy, but time and time again he does the opposite of what I personally expect him to do (not that my expectations matter). I’ve lost all faith in Balotelli at this point.

  4. Great point Italy Fan. Shows the hypocrisy of the whole “movement”. Black power won’t get a second thought, but imagine White Power was mentioned … Front page persecution

  5. @Italy Fan last time i checked i never saw black men wearing black robes burning crosses on people’s lawns, lynching them or chasing after them while on a jog and killing them. Entire system judiciary systems setup to work against minorities. I have never seen that, but maybe i haven’t been paying attention. Black Power is nothing like White Power. You know this.

  6. @ sebbyde

If you expect someone not to do something, it’s common sense not to do the exact same thing yourself. Skin color alone doesn’t and shouldn’t give you power, it’s wrong and you should know this.

  7. everyone, to be fair, hes an electric footballer and italy could have probably used him in the macedonia game, zaniolo too. i dont understand these decisions. agreed though, at what detriment to the locker room would he have been idk.

  8. To those who imagined that I thought Tattoos should prevent you from being picked for Italy. The point I was making is , a guy of his age should be spending his time more productively. Showing off your new face tattoos on instagram might be excusable for a 19 yr old, but not for a guy who supposedly has finally grown up

  9. You moderators can delete comments about others but when it comes to slander on this man thats obviously a racial issue you allow it ha

  10. The usual dim-witted trolls and clowns on here spreading their racist hate. Black Power and white power are not even remotely the same things.
    Learn some history.

Mario is a nice lad and deserves respect.

  11. Balotelli is a free man, and Italian and Black. More Italian then many posting here. He should have been called up. He is still a better Center Forward then Immobile. It is the controversy that keeps him of the team. But he should have been on. I am sure he was dejected at not being called up.

A Black Power tatoo is not the same as White Power tatoo.
