Fiorentina captain German Pezzella seems set for a return to Spain, as Real Betis have reportedly reached an agreement over a permanent deal at €4m.

The defender has, according to SportItalia, closed a deal with the La Liga side and will leave Fiorentina after five seasons for a return to Real Betis.

He spent two years from 2015 to 2017 at Betis and the move opens up a possible reunion with Matija Nastasic at the Artemio Franchi.

Fiorentina have, according to TMW, reached an agreement with Schalke 04 over Nastasic’s return to the Viola and the sale of Pezzella will now push the with the Serbian across the line.

SportItalia reports the farewell of the captain will give Fiorentina a chance to renew with Nikola Milenkovic too, as the 23-year-old has one year left on his current deal in Florence.

Pezzella, capped 17 times by Italy, has played 138 times with the Viola, contributing seven goals and six assists in the process.

He arrived from Betis, initially on a paid loan in August 2017, and was signed on a permanent deal the following summer for a reported €10.25m.
