German Pezzella knows ‘what it means to take on Juventus’ for Fiorentina and their fans, so is relishing the 3-0 victory in Turin.

This was their first Serie A win here since March 2008, when the coach was also Cesare Prandelli.

“Everything went well early on, but Fiorentina also showed great spirit and determination. We’ve done that the last couple of games and we needed to stay calm and focused,” the captain told Sky Sport Italia.

“Everything went well early on, but Fiorentina also showed great spirit and determination. We’ve done that the last couple of games and we needed to stay calm and focused,” the captain told Sky Sport Italia.

“Now we can rest for a few days, but then know we must get back out there with the same attitude.”

Fiorentina were without a victory in eight rounds and remain closer to the relegation zone than the top spots.

“This win means a great deal to us and our fans. Unfortunately, we haven’t given the supporters the joy they deserved in recent months, I’ve been here for four years and I know that it means to take on Juve.

“We mustn’t see this as a turning point, because we still need to improve a great deal. It does give us more confidence to face everything coming our way, because we want to reboot this season.”
