Vladimir Petkovic has committed himself to Lazio for next season, as he reflects on why Lazio’s form improved at the season’s end.

The Aquile are celebrating having lifted the Coppa Italia on Sunday afternoon after a 1-0 win over Roma, and their Coach has made clear that he does not intend to walk away.

“I have a contract until 2014 and with the President we said we would revise the budget after the first year,” commented Petkovic to reporters today.

“Now we will talk and continue together. Have I asked for reinforcements? I have not asked for anything, I only look at the assessments that are on the table.

“And only at the end of August, when the season starts, will I be able to say if Lazio are a stronger team.”

The Coach was asked of the 2012-13 season’s performance, where Lazio fell away in the second half of the campaign.

“Making an evaluation is always risky because you need to look at the development of the season. I am very satifised, but I’m never 100 per cent happy and I always try to improve.

“The experience this season has brought us peace of mind and consciousness. As I have said, I have felt that our efforts should be rewarded in some way, we’ve had some dark moments, but all in all, when we were able to work seven days a week without commitments in midweek, the results have come.”
