Andrea Petagna scored the winner against Torino and urged SPAL to “stay with our leader” Leonardo Semplici, while discussing transfer speculation.

The Spallini were bottom of the table and without a win since October 5, but fought back to beat 10-man Toro 2-1 this evening.

“We deserved to have at least another three or four points this season, but we made up for it with an important victory away to a very impressive Torino side,” the striker told DAZN.

“We are confident that the teams ahead of us in the table right now are not better equipped than we are, as long as we stay with our coach, who is our leader.”

There have been reports Roma have approached SPAL to sign Petagna in January.

“I’ve scored a good 25 goals in the last year-and-a-half here, so it’s natural people will talk about me, but I am keeping my feet on the ground and focused on helping SPAL.”
