Antonio Cassano scored in his first start at a major tournament against Sweden in Euro 2004, when the former striker was 21 years and 342 days old.

The Atalanta midfielder, who replaced Stefano Sensi in the Euro 2020 squad right before the tournament started, was given a chance to start against the Welsh in the third match in Group A.

Pessina scored the first goal of the match in the 39th minute and at 24 years and 60 days, he is then the youngest Italian player to score on his first start at a major tournament since Cassano scored against the Swedes 17 years ago.
