Catania defender Gino Peruzzi is “surprised but happy” at receiving a call-up for the Argentina squad.
The 21-year-old has only 10 Serie A appearances for the bottom of the table club and scored his debut goal last week.
He had already played four games for Argentina, but hadn’t been called up since June 2013.

“To be honest, I really did not expect this,” he told Tuttomondiali.it after the call-up for international friendlies.
“Up until a few weeks ago I was going through a very difficult time at Catania, but evidently the Coach based his opinion on my most recent performances.
“I will enjoy this moment and I am surprised, but happy. In the summer there is the World Cup and it would be wonderful to be there, but I am relaxed no matter what happens.”
