Multiple reports in Italy claim Tottenham winger Ivan Perisic wants to return to Inter after a disappointing season in North London.

The Croatia international joined Antonio Conte’s Tottenham as a free agent a year ago, but his season with Spurs has been highly disappointing, with just one goal in 44 appearances across all competitions.

Wednesday’s printed edition of Tuttosport (page 17) and Calciomercato.com claim the winger wants to return to the Stadio Meazza, but his €6m-a-year salary makes it difficult for Beppe Marotta to bring him back.

Inter also have solid options on the left wing in Federico Dimarco and Robin Gosens and only if the German leaves, Perisic may have a chance to play for Inter again.

According to Calciomercato, Perisic regrets joining Tottenham and has already discussed a possible return with Marotta.

The 34-year-old attended the Champions League semifinal second leg against Milan at San Siro earlier this month and will also be in Istanbul to watch his former teammates in a Champions League Final against Manchester City.
