Ivan Perisic insists he is ready to ‘do great things’ at Inter this season after returning from his Treble-winning Bayern Munich loan spell.

The Croatia international had expected to make that move permanent, but Bayern did not activate their option to buy.

“I had an incredible year, as I won three trophies with a great team,” Perisic told Inter TV.

“It wasn’t easy at the start, as I had a few problems with the first coach, then damaged my ankle in February, but despite it all, we emerged from a tough situation and won everything.

“That was a positive year, now I am back and I’m happy. I still have two years on my contract with Inter and hope we can do great things together. I am ready.

Antonio Conte had said Perisic wasn’t suited to his 3-5-2 formation, but with the introduction of Christian Eriksen, some of those tactics will have changed.

“I know the coach likes to work hard. We’re on the right track, I saw a lot of hunger in the locker room and everyone is fired up. On a personal note, I expect a positive year, and I watched almost all the games that my friends played last season. I was Inter’s Number One Fan, it’s a pity they came so close and didn’t win all the competitions.”

Inter finished second in Serie A, reached the Europa League Final and the Coppa Italia semi-final.
