Former Inter boss Gigi Simoni has claimed that Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic will leave the club this summer.

Icardi and Perisic appeared to patch up their reported differences during Inter’s 4-0 win at Genoa – which was the striker’s first appearance for two months – but Simoni was not convinced.

“We need harmony in the squad to achieve results,” the 80-year-old, who led the Nerazzurri to the 1997-98 UEFA Cup, told FCInterNews.

“You don’t win or go far if there are problems in the dressing room. Today’s players are more individualistic.

“They think of themselves first and the good of the team second. I think it’ll be really difficult for them to patch things up.

“An effort by the club was needed to protect the Coach, who has been left all alone.

“It’s not possible that there are problems in the dressing room without the club immediately putting a stop to them.

“I imagine that at the end of the season, Icardi and Perisic will both leave.”
