Ivan Perisic has reportedly agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of a possible Inter departure next month.

The 33-year-old Croatian again proved his quality in the Nerazzurri’s 4-2 Coppa Italia final win over Juventus on Wednesday, netting a brace to help secure the trophy for Simone Inzaghi’s side. He expressed some frustration regarding his contract renewal talks after the game, suggesting that a free transfer in the summer is a concrete possibility.

As reported by Sport Mediaset, Perisic has agreed personal terms with Chelsea ahead of a possible free transfer this summer. The only things remaining now are reportedly some small details and the usual medicals.

Inter are not keen to lose the 2018 World Cup finalist, but time is clearly running out and they must raise their current offer soon: a two-year deal worth €4.5m net plus add-ons. The Croatian would reportedly prefer a three-year deal with a slightly higher salary.

  1. This is why the club has signed Gosens.

Ivan was on fire this season because he was playing for his next big contract.

  2. It’s the absolute last chance for him to get another big move, so it’s logical that he would move. Especially to a big team in the strongest league in world and likely on a higher salary than inter would give him.

Gosens is too good to be a sub anyways and inter can use those 9m€ from perisic salary elsewhere.

  3. Am sure inter will regret their decision to let him leave dzeco should be released instead of perisic, there will not be backup for gozen

  4. Perisic would be my Seria A player of the year,he never heard rating below 6/10 throughout this season.very consistent, push the strikers and midfielders to scoring position with his drive from left Wing, good on both foot.am not sure gosen has perisic qualities.

  5. @Isaac Di Marco is a pretty good lwb. He’s been played as a central defender, which he’s not and is why he has struggled this season. Why didn’t Perisic play this well or put in this much effort last season? The last time I saw him play so well was while he was at Bayern. Now what is similar in both cases? There was a new contract at stake. Inter need to think strategically and that’s what they’re doing. Don’t offer over-the-top wages and a long term contract to a 33 year old. If Chelsea or another EPL club want to do that, they have the money to do so.

  6. @Geedup, nevermind that Inter just spent money on buing Gosens. Clearly, they didn’t do this to make him a sub, so clearly they never intended to renew Perisic. Calma Inter fans, a healthy Gosens is just as good as Perisic on an expiring contract.

  7. He has been a great servant. Thanks to Mancini for insisting on signing him all those years ago. Good luck with your new club – link up with kovacic.

  8. A 2 year contract offer seems fair considering his age but naturally he wants a longer deal… which from his own perspective is also fair. Would be a shame if he goes but that’s how things are in football. At least he wouldn’t be joining an Italian rival, and obviously Chelsea in the Premier league is tempting. That way he would play in Germany, Italy and England which looks nice in his resume.

  9. Good luck to Perisic. He is a great player. Age is now a factor, so I cannot entirely blame Inter management for wanting a shorter term contract. I cannot blame the player either for trying to get as much as he can at his advance football age. I would have gotten rid of Dzeko before Perisic. But I’m not in the Inter management. Forza Inter! Good luck to Ivan!

  10. This guy has everything it takes to be our next Zanetti, IOW a player that plays at a high level to 35 or even older.

Damn you Suning, and Zhang, if you let Perisic leave on a free!

  11. Great servant of the club – didn’t think he had what it takes to be a wing back but conte showed his skill and taught him how. One of our best this season but also let’s be realistic. We have gosens who’s coming back from injury but give him a full preseason and hel be the undesputed starter. Can’t be paying perisic 7m for 2 years to sit on the bench. 4.5 is still a lot although the offer comes because of his loyalty and form. If he goes, wages go to someone else in a position we need to strengthen like midfield or attack.

  12. Of course now the media will go crazy as to who he agreed terms with. Chelsea will think twice after the Lukaku deal but Perisic knows this is a perfect time if he wants to play at another top team. He could stay and continue at Inter which will require no settling in time something that he will do if he goes somewhere else and Chelsea with a new owner won’t be that stable with a couple of players who will leave/arrive.
