Genoa and Italy goalkeeper Mattia Perin will be out for up to three weeks with a shoulder injury, his club have confirmed.

The 22-year-old had to pull out of international duty after taking a blow in yesterday's game against Juventus.

Today, the Grifone confirmed with a statement on their site that the player will be unavailable until mid-April.

Today, the Grifone confirmed with a statement on their site that the player will be unavailable until mid-April.

“Genoa CFC communicate that the goalkeeper Mattia Perin underwent an MRI scan by Professor Enzo Silvestri at the Ospedale Evangelico di Genova, and was later examined ahead of schedule by Professor Alessandro Castagna in Milan,” reads the statement.

“The examinations revealed a medium-degree contusion to the right shoulder. The athlete was prescribed with 10 days of rest until further examinations.

“The expected recovery time for a full return to professional sporting activities is estimated to be around three weeks.”
