Perin: ‘Genoa until June’

Mattia Perin confirms “until June I’m the Genoa goalkeeper”, and calls Giuseppe Rossi “a great player”.

The Italian international has been linked with Napoli, who will need a replacement for Pepe Reina after this season.

The Grifone warned last night they wouldn’t sell him mid-season, and the player himself has confirmed his intention to stay at Marassi.

The Italian international has been linked with Napoli, who will need a replacement for Pepe Reina after this season.

The Grifone warned last night they wouldn’t sell him mid-season, and the player himself has confirmed his intention to stay at Marassi.

“Until June I’m the Genoa goalkeeper,” Perin confirmed in an interview with Sky.

“I’ve been in Rossoblu for 10 years and now isn’t the time to talk about the transfer market.”

Perin also spoke about Genoa’s season so far, with their form improving since Davide Ballardini replaced Ivan Juric on the bench.

“Ballardini has brought his ideas and the squad is following him, we’ve achieved a good defensive solidity and we’re much better.

“As soon as we realised we were in a relegation battle, things changed. Things are going very well but the merit goes to the midfielders and attackers too.

Juventus when we come back? It’ll be difficult, but these are nice games to play.

“Giuseppe Rossi? He’s a great player, a crystalline talent.”
