Multiple sources report that Roberto Pereyra is returning to Udinese as a free agent, signing a one-year contract at the club he left in July.

The Argentina international’s contract was allowed to run down on June 30 and he was linked with several different teams, including in Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Italy, with Torino and Andrea Pirlo’s Sampdoria particularly interested.

However, he has seemingly decided on a return to the Dacia Arena under coach Andrea Sottil.

It will be a one-year contract without an option to extend after the expiry date in June 2024.

Pereyra was a key player for Udinese last season, making 36 appearances between Serie A and the Coppa Italia, providing five goals and nine assists.

This is going to be his third different stint in Udine after 2011 to 2016 and 2020 to 2023.

The 32-year-old made 200 competitive appearances for the Friuli squad, scoring 23 goals and providing 33 assists.
