The Argentine forward is expected to leave in January following a row with coach Gian Piero Gasperini, as there seems to be no sign of the pair resolving their differences.

Percassi spoke to the Eco di Bergamo and closed the Gomez case.

“The Papu case? No, look,” Percassi said. “We have already talked enough, The subject is closed – end of.”

He then went on to praise coach Gasperini, who has brought the club to the last 16 of the Champions League in back-to-back seasons and added that his son Luca has been vital for La Dea.

“Gasperini for life. And not just him,” Percassi added. “Even the whole structure. This organisation, thanks to the great work of my son Luca as well, is giving us great results.”

Sky Sport Italia reported that Gomez had to work separately when the Orobici returned to training after Christmas and the captain is expected to leave in January.
