La Dea are in their first ever Champions League campaign, but already in the quarter-finals, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain in a one-off match in Lisbon in August.

“Atalanta have not lost for the last 11 matches. It’s also nice to say hello to friends in Italy and it’s very nice to meet again,” Leonardo told UEFA.

“It will be a different format, so all these clubs have the possibility to win.”

As for Atalanta, they have already knocked out Valencia and Shakhtar Donetsk, unbeaten in five Champions League games.

“It’s a dream for Atalanta just to be among the top eight teams in Europe and it’s something historic for the city of Bergamo,” added President Percassi.

“Paris Saint-Germain are a very strong team. We will play with great determination and try to play our chances. It’ll be a bit like going to school for us and it’s going to be a memorable night for our history.”

Whoever wins this fixture will go on to face Atletico Madrid or RB Leipzig in the semi-final, which again is a one-off match on neutral turf in Portugal.
