Atalanta President Antonio Percassi has claimed ‘Anfield is the University of football’ as La Dea get ready to face Liverpool in Champions League on Wednesday.

The Nerazzurri were held to a 0-0 draw at Spezia on Saturday.

“The national team break is affecting us like other teams,” Percassi told reporters on Sunday according to Tuttomercatoweb.

“Player are destroyed when they return, you need to consider it. We didn’t have these problems in the first three games and now other teams know how we play and they have adapted. By the way, we had to win yesterday we missed some incredible chances.”

La Dea will face Liverpool in Champions League on Wednesday with the Reds who won 5-0 in Bergamo two weeks ago.

"You all know they are such a strong team. We’ll play in the most beautiful stadium, where I was watching a game a long time ago and it’s really crazy. We go to the University of football, you go to learn and we have to try to make a good impression.

"We have to keep our feet on the ground. We have to be strong. We are a small club, what we have done so far is extraordinary.

“We must maintain humility and concentration. If we managed to get here it is thanks to the coach, those who work at Atalanta and the boys.”
