Pepe became the oldest player to score a goal in Champions League history on Tuesday, taking the record away from Roma legend Francesco Totti.

The Italian held the record for over nine years after scoring his final Champions League goal in a 1-1 draw with CSKA Moscow on November 25, 2014, finding the back of the net at the age of 38 years and 59 days old.

Pepe found the back of the net in the dying minutes of Porto’s 2-0 win over Royal Antwerp in their Champions League clash on Tuesday evening. The Portuguese centre back scored at the age of 40 years and 254 days old, taking Totti’s record.

The other oldest Champions League scorers include Ryan Giggs, Filip Inzaghi, Javier Zanetti, Luka Modric, Edin Dzeko, Olivier Giroud, Laurent Blanc and Paolo Maldini.

Maldini is the oldest goalscorer in a Champions League final, finding the back of the net at the age of 36 years, 10 months and 29 days.
