New Chievo signing Simone Pepe says this season’s aim is simply to remain in Serie A.

The winger has joined the Flying Donkeys on a free transfer, having left Juventus at the end of lasts season following five years in Turin.

“I’m very happy and fired-up after joining this club,” Pepe told assembled media at his official presentation.

“I’ll put my give my heart and all of my effort for Chievo Verona. I can’t wait to start this adventure in the Gialloblu shirt.

Pepe’s final three seasons in Turin were blighted by injury, and the Italian international believes that experience has allowed him to grow as a player.
