Italian international Federico Peluso has insisted he has no regrets about remaining with Atalanta over the summer.

The left-back was being linked with Juventus, Palermo, Napoli and Manchester City following his revelatory 2011-12 campaign in Bergamo.

However, no transfer took place and he’s still wearing the black of blue shirt of the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia outfit.

“It was pleasing to see my name linked with so many big clubs,” he noted. “But I’m happy that I’m still in Bergamo as this city has given me a lot.”

Atalanta have helped launch his international career. Handed his debut in the August friendly against England, he scored in the 2-0 win over Malta on Tuesday.

“Playing for Italy is always a dream, never mind scoring a goal for your country,” he added. “I will never forget that night!”
