Roma are hopeful that Italy international Lorenzo Pellegrini will be able to make his comeback from injury against Udinese this weekend.

The midfielder was forced to pull out of the final EURO 2024 qualifiers after suffering a lesion to the flexor in the right thigh at the start of October.

After six weeks out, he is now back in training regularly and was spotted at the Trigoria camp today to have his session, despite the fact Jose Mourinho had given the rest of the squad the day off.

He is hoping to participate in all this week’s sessions with his teammates, allowing him to at least be on the bench for Sunday’s Serie A game against Udinese.

It has been a troubled campaign for the Giallorossi captain, who had several muscular injuries and made only five appearances between Serie A and the Europa League.

Pellegrini was nonetheless still able to contribute two goals and an assist.
