Roma will be without captain Lorenzo Pellegrini for the Europa League showdown with Real Betis, but Paulo Dybala will start.

It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

Coach Jose Mourinho already gave some clues in his press conference as to how he would set the team out for this must-win game.

That included confirming Dybala will be in the starting XI, but that Pellegrini was in doubt.

Now Sky Sport Italia insist the captain will not even be on the bench tomorrow evening, as he is struggling with the same flexor issue that had forced him to pull out of Italy’s Nations League matches.

Tests showed no lesions, which is a good sign, but it is best not to risk doing any further damage, especially with a Serie A match coming up this weekend against Lecce.

Tammy Abraham was surprisingly dropped for the victory away to Inter, but could again be left out in favour this time of Andrea Belotti.

Roma (probable): Rui Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez; Celik, Cristante, Matic, Zalewski; Dybala; Zaniolo, Belotti

  1. Svilar is also prone to mistakes, even more so.
I prefer Rui. But I don’t trust him like I did 2 months ago.
