Sky Sport Italia reveals the instrumental examinations has revealed a first-degree muscle injury in the left thigh, but the 24-year-old will join the Italy squad to continue his rehabilitation with the national squad.

Pellegrini has played 34 Serie A games in 2020-21, contributing seven goals and six assists in the process.

The former Sassuolo player has played 17 times for Italy so far and is expected to play an important role for the Azzurri in the European Championship this summer.
