“Uruguay will be a difficult opponent to face,” said Pekerman in his Press conference.

These two nations face off for the Round of 16 in Rio de Janeiro today, kicking off at 21.00 UK time (20.00 GMT).
“Uruguay will be a difficult opponent to face,” said Pekerman in his Press conference.
“They are strong and experienced with a fantastic Coach coming off a winning era over the last five years.
“We should have admiration and respect for them. We consider Uruguay to be a big team. We want to continue our work, as we have our system and are focused only on our own tactical plan.
“It is going to be a big test for us. We know the experience of our opponents and want to prove we’re able to fight and beat a side like Uruguay.”
Colombia didn’t even qualify for the World Cup for 20 years, but swept through the group with a 100 per cent record.
“We must prove our nation, which for many years did not take part in a World Cup, is ready and capable of challenging any opponent move for move.
“It’s an interesting World Cup with many goals and the teams know they have to score more than their opponents if they are to win. It is important to defend well, but above all to make the most of your scoring opportunities.”
Uruguay are without star striker Luis Suarez, as he received a four-month ban for biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini, but Pekerman repeatedly dodged questions on this issue.
“We have to focus on what we are doing. We respect Uruguay who, regardless of Suarez, are a very important rival.”
