Pedro is on the verge of completing a rare switch between rivals Roma and Lazio, although he will terminate the Giallorossi contract first.

The interest first emerged on Tuesday and the situation progressed rapidly with everyone in agreement.

The Spanish veteran is not part of Jose Mourinho’s plans and was not even invited to pre-season training with the rest of the squad.

He only joined a year ago from Chelsea as a free agent and can now remain in Serie A, and indeed in the Eternal City, by crossing to their arch-rivals Lazio.

According to multiple sources, the deal is practically done, with Pedro agreeing a two-year contract with the Biancocelesti.

He will terminate his contract with Roma by mutual consent first, although the Giallorossi should get some payment in the form of performance-related bonuses.

In that sense, it is not dissimilar to the deal done with Inter for Edin Dzeko.

This represents a reunion with his former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri, having played 52 games under him with 13 goals and five assists.

In his lone Roma season, Pedro scored six times and provided seven assists in 40 competitive matches.
