Barcelona midfielder Pedri raged after a 4-3 loss against Inter, saying that UEFA must ‘look into’ referee Szymon Marciniak, especially because Henrikh Mkhitaryan deserved a second yellow card for a foul on Lamine Yamal.

Barcelona midfielder Pedri was unhappy with Marciniak’s officiating in Tuesday’s 4-3 loss to Serie A giants Inter.

“I’m proud of the team and a bit disappointed because we managed to come back from a result that was very much against us,” the Spain international said in the mixed zone, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

“It’s not the first time this has happened with this referee; UEFA should look into it,” he continued.

“There are things I don’t understand that are hard to explain. Every 50-50 call went their way. On the penalty on Lamine, which was later called a free kick, Mkhitaryan should have been given a yellow, which would have been his second.”

The Nerazzurri have now qualified for the second Champions League Final in three years. You can check today’s live updates and reactions on the Football Italia LIVEBLOG.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick also complained about the referee’s decision, but still congratulated the Nerazzurri, who secured a 7-6 aggregate win after two epic ties.

Inter will meet Arsenal or PSG in the Champions League Final in Munich on May 31. The Gunners will visit the Ligue 1 giants tonight after a 1-0 loss in the first leg semifinal in London.

Inter vs Barcelona – Lautaro Martinez’s reaction

The Argentine quickly recovered from an injury, scoring the opening goal and earning a penalty kick in the first half.

“I felt the leg twinge and the first two days I just sat at home crying, but we did great work with the staff and I managed to recover, even if I was not at 100 per cent,” Lautaro said.

“This is how I experience football, you’ve got to give your all in these games. I promised my family that I would get on the pitch today.”

10 thought on “Pedri: UEFA must ‘look into’ referee as Inter player ‘should have been’ sent off”
  1. Cry harder, Pedri. You were defeated by a stronger, braver and more intelligent team. Inigo Martinez should have been sent off in first half for spitting at Acerbi.

  2. The Spanish a the sorest losers . They have benefited the most from referees over the years . Cry more Pedri

  3. The ref didn’t even give a booking to the defender who caused the penalty before the break.
    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  4. So sick of barca sore losers

    Red card for spitting????

Not to mention after rafinha scored during a atoppage barca subs kicking am extra ball in play to waste time

Maybe go back back to 2010 at nou camp, Valdes manhandling mouriho after the whistle and barca turning the sprinklers on after teh whiste to gat inter off the pitch

  5. 1st of all you should have had a red card for Inigo Martinez spitting on Acerbi.

2nd you didn’t get a yellow card for the penalti on Lautaro Martinez so:
    Sush Barca .

  6. Miki was not booked before that foul. In fact, he got the yellow (correctly) because of that foul. Pedri is an a-hole like most of Farsa players
