Fabio Pecchia admits Verona’s meeting with SPAL feels like his side’s ‘last chance’ to stay in the fight for Serie A survival.
The Scaligeri are six points from safety with just four matches of the season remaining, having lost six of their last seven matches.
Despite their precarious position and midweek loss to Genoa, Pecchia is convinced his players will do themselves justice in today’s clash with their relegation rivals.

Despite their precarious position and midweek loss to Genoa, Pecchia is convinced his players will do themselves justice in today’s clash with their relegation rivals.
“The last defeat was tough. We left Genoa beaten at the end of a match in which Verona deserved a lot more,” the former Real Madrid assistant told a Press conference.
“After Genoa I said that we weren’t dead. Now we need to think about the SPAL match. I am convinced that my team will play well.”
Fan protests have been a regular occurrence at the Bentegodi this season, with Verona on the receiving end of some heavy defeats.
“The fans have all the right to protest. After losing to Genoa, which made our situation even more complicated, it wasn’t easy to go back to work.
“Even though our situation is getting more and more difficult, we will try to keep alive the remaining hopes we have.
“I expect it to be a ‘last chance’ type of atmosphere. All we can do is try to put on a performance and look to win.”
