“I wanted to prove what I could do and what I’m worth. Coming abroad isn’t challenging yourself, it’s starting from scratch. To have therefore started so strong makes me very proud.

“I was brimming with joy. It was so satisfying to score against Real Madrid, the world champions, and with a packed stadium. You could tell I’d been waiting a long time for that goal.”

Pazzini also brought his trademark ‘look me in the eyes’ celebration to Levante and the club released a template to print and cut out your own version.

“I think it’s genius. The kit is one of the things that really pleased me. It’s nice to have exported my celebration to La Liga as well.”
